Your Guide to Dare2tri’s Paratriathlon Camps

It’s the most wonderful time of the year: Dare2tri camp season.

This summer, Dare2tri will host four paratriathlon training camps for individuals who have a physical disability or visual impairment. Whether you’re new to paratriathlon or you’re a seasoned athlete, Dare2tri has a camp experience for you.

Here’s just about everything you need to know about our 2021 camp lineup.

June 3-6

Injured Military Camp

A paratriathlon camp exclusively for veterans and active military personnel.

Who can attend Injured Military Camp?
Any veteran or active service member with a physical disability or visual impairment.

Where is camp located?
The camp is hosted in Northwest Indiana, a short drive from Chicago. Camp activities are split between Munster and Hammond, Indiana. Lodging is located in Hammond.

Is there a race opportunity?
Yes! None other than Leon’s Triathlon, a race that pays special tribute to active and retired military.

When does registration open?
Registration opened on Monday, April 19. Secure your spot today.

Are volunteers needed?
Yes, volunteers are needed to assist with guiding athletes, unloading equipment, camp setup, water entry/exit, bike course safety, water safety, dog-watching, merchandise sales, and more. Sign up here.

June 24-27

Train2Race Camp

Designed for the experienced paratriathlete.

Who can attend Train2Race?
Any athlete with a physical disability or visual impairment who has has completed a minimum of three triathlons without an on-course guide (excluding visually impaired athletes who use sighted guides).

Where is camp located?
Camp activities and lodging are located in Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin (about 45 minutes from Chicago).

Is there a race opportunity?
Yes! All participants will receive entry to the Pleasant Prairie Triathlon — an excellent course that twice hosted the Paratriathlon National Championships.

When does registration open?
Registration opened on Monday, April 19. Secure your spot today.

Are volunteers needed?
Yes, volunteers are needed to assist with guiding athletes, water entry/exit, bike course safety, water safety, dog-watching, merchandise sales and more. Sign up here.

July 13-14

Kids Tri Camp

A swim-bike-run camp for youth.

Who can attend Kids Tri Camp?
Youth between the ages of 6 and 21 who have a physical disability or visual impairment.

Where is camp located?
Chicago’s 63rd Street Beach. A beautiful lakefront location with a classic history.

Is this an overnight camp?
No, Kids Tri Camp is a day camp.

Is there a race opportunity?
Yes! All participants will race the Dare2tri Tri It Triathlon on Chicago’s lakefront.

When does registration open?
Registration will open on May 17, 2021. Check back later to secure your spot.

August 5-8

Learn2Tri Camp

Our original paratriathlon camp. A transformative experience for all.

Who can attend Learn2Tri?
Any individual with a physical disability or visual impairment.

Camp activities and lodging are located in Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin (about 45 minutes from Chicago).

Is there a race opportunity?
Yes! All participants will race the Dare2tri Tri It Triathlon.
