Alec Litowitz is Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Magnetar Capital, a leading asset management firm based in Evanston, Illinois.
Alec graduated from MIT with a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and Anthropology. He went on to receive a JD and MBA from University of Chicago. An avid athlete, Alec was the first squash player at MIT to be named All-American and, in 2004, he completed the Hawaii Ironman triathlon in just over 12 hours.
Alec discovered Dare2tri after his teenage son, who is also a triathlete, met a swimmer with a disability and wanted to do something to help. Together, Alec and his son researched organizations and discovered Dare2tri in their own backyard.
Serving on the Board of Dare2tri allows Alec the opportunity to blend his passions for business management and athletics. He works closely with the staff and board to position Dare2tri to be the nation’s leading organization that encourages and enables athletes with disabilities of all ages and ability levels to compete in single events and paratriathlons.
