The Finish Line is Just the Beginning
About Us

Dare2tri is a Chicago-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to enhancing the lives of individuals with physical disabilities and visual impairments. Through the power of swimming, biking, and running, we build confidence, foster community, and promote health and wellness.
Since our founding in 2011 by Keri Serota, Dan Tun, and Paralympian Melissa Stockwell, Dare2tri has grown from a grassroots effort into a national leader in the adaptive sports community. What began with just a handful of athletes has evolved into a movement—one that empowers people of all abilities to become active, set ambitious goals, and redefine what’s possible.
We support athletes at every stage of their journey, from first-timers to elite competitors, through inclusive programming and a culture that celebrates determination over limitations. Our events and training opportunities aren’t just about sport—they’re about transforming lives, boosting self-esteem, and fostering resilience.
At Dare2tri, we know that crossing the finish line is more than a physical achievement—it’s an extraordinary, emotional milestone that creates a lasting sense of self-worth and possibility. And for many, that finish line marks the beginning of something even greater.
Our Mission: To enhance the lives of individuals with physical disabilities and visual impairments by building confidence, community, health, and wellness through swimming, biking, and running.
Our Vision: To serve as the premier model for paratriathlon programs across the world.
