Giving Tuesday Toolkit (2021)

Giving Tuesday: November 30, 2021

To help us kick off the giving season, we are asking Dare2tri athletes, volunteers, and community members to join us for our GivingTuesday on November 30.

GivingTuesday is a global generosity movement with a day that encourages people to do good. Here are three different ways you can ‘do good’ for Dare2tri on this special day.

1. Fundraise on Facebook to win prizes

Start a Facebook Fundraiser and invite your friends to help you crush your goal. Be sure to customize it with a proper name (e.g. Sarah’s GivingTuesday fundraiser) and a personal message and photo (see below for ideas!). Once you’re all set up, share your fundraiser via Instagram, Twitter, email, and text. One hundred percent of the funds you raise will benefit Dare2tri and our athletes.

Pro Tip: Get the ball rolling by making the first donation. This shows that you’re committed to the cause and will inspire others to join in and make a contribution of their own.

Prizes are up for grabs!
  • Raise $250-499 – You’ve covered a travel stipend for one athlete! We’ll send you a Dare2tri mask and buff to sport at your next workout.
  • Raise $500-999 – You’ve covered a set of home equipment for one athlete! We’ll send you a Dare2tri mask and buff as well as 2 Dare2tri stadium cups to cheers to the next season.
  • Raise $1,000+ – You’ve covered a camp fee for one athlete! We’ll send you a Dare2tri mask and buff, 2 Dare2tri stadium cups, plus 15% off at Allbirds and entry into a raffle to win the grand prize package.
Share images and posts with your fundraiser

Putting a personal touch on your fundraiser makes a huge difference. You can increase your impact by sharing details about what Dare2tri means to why and why. Here are a couple ideas!

“How it started vs. how it’s going”

Share about the impact of Dare2tri with this popular meme format! You can post a template featuring a Dare2tri athlete, or personalize your own template to showcase your personal growth journey. Accompany your post with information on how Dare2tri has helped you (or a loved one) find success in sports with access to programs, grants, equipment, and community.

“I am fundraising to…”

Share about WHY you are fundraising by choosing one of our pre-filled templates or customizing your own. Accompany your post with a memorable experience or the overall impact that Dare2tri has had on your life. Note that your fundraising efforts will make these experiences possible for other athletes as well!

2. Sign up to Race2Raise

The Race2Raise Team is a community of “fund-racers” who make their races more meaningful by racing on behalf of Dare2tri. Join in by signing up to run the Chicago Marathon on October 9, 2022. In return, you’ll receive guaranteed entry, a training plan, Dare2tri gear, and more!

3. Sign up for volunteer opportunities

Volunteers are the backbone of Dare2tri. We couldn’t do what we do, and have the impact we have, without the generous support of our volunteer community. If you want to join us during the 2022 camp season, hit the button below to sign up for volunteer updates. You don’t have to have triathlon experience to get involved!
