Cycling Program Assistant
Dare2tri is looking for a part-time Program Assistant for our On The Road2Ride adaptive cycling program. This position will assist the Dare2tri staff in producing On the Road2Ride cycling events and weekly cycling practices. In this position, you will be required to assist athletes in preparation for riding an adaptive cycle, manage Dare2tri equipment, and ensure event and athlete safety.
The On The Road2Ride program is a program that allows Dare2tri to travel to local organizations with a fleet of adaptive cycles to provide kids and adults the opportunity to learn and enjoy the pleasures of cycling.
Responsibilities
- Packing, loading and unloading the Dare2tri trailer with the proper equipment needed for each event
- Management of checking in participants before cycling begins
- Ensuring proper safety protocols
- Assisting in equipment transfer for participants
- Proper cleaning of equipment after use
- Provide coaching and feedback to participants
Position details
This position runs from May to September 2025 and requires afternoon and evening availability on weeknights, along with some weekends, for approximately 10 hours per week. Standard weekly cycling practices take place on Mondays from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM and Wednesdays from 3:30 PM to 6:30 PM. Road2Ride clinics are scheduled on Tuesdays and Thursdays, with exact dates and times to be determined. The hourly wage for this position ranges from $18 to $22.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or higher
- A passion for cycling or fitness
- Previous experience working with individuals with a physical disability or visual impairment a plus
- Availibility during the afternoon/early evening on weeknights and on weekends.
- Ability to stand/walk/cycle for extended periods of time and lift heavy objects (at least 30 lbs.)
- Problem solving and communication skills. This includes providing coaching and feedback to participants.
- Ability to adapt to different situations.
