Community Fundraising Coordinator

Dare2tri is seeking a highly organized and enthusiastic Community Fundraising Coordinator to manage and grow our Race2Raise peer to peer fundraising program. Race2Raise provides individuals with race entries to major marathons and triathlons in exchange for fundraising in support of Dare2tri’s mission to empower athletes with disabilities. This program is a critical component of our fundraising efforts, accounting for a significant percentage of Dare2tri’s annual revenue.

The ideal candidate is a positive and proactive communicator with a strong attention to detail and a passion for delivering exceptional customer service. This role requires someone who can effectively manage relationships with fundraisers and race organizers, ensure timely follow-ups, and create a seamless experience for participants.

This position reports to the Director of Development and offers a flexible, remote-friendly work environment. Candidates in the Chicago area are preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Program Management: Oversee all aspects of the Race2Raise program, ensuring smooth operations and a positive experience for fundraisers.
  • Relationship Coordination: Serve as the primary contact for fundraisers and race organizations, maintaining strong relationships and clear communication.
  • Fundraiser Support: Recruit, onboard, and support fundraisers by answering questions, collecting contracts, providing race registration links, and ensuring fundraising benchmarks are met.
  • Timely Communication: Respond promptly to all inquiries, ensuring fundraisers feel supported and informed throughout their journey.
  • Deadline & Benchmark Tracking: Manage program timelines, deadlines, and fundraising milestones to keep fundraisers on track.
  • Engagement & Motivation: Develop and distribute newsletters, fundraising tips, and incentives to keep fundraisers engaged and motivated.
  • Event Support: Serve as Dare2tri’s on-site point of contact at select race events.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma required; additional education a plus
  • Prior experience in fundraising, communications, or customer service preferred
  • Experience managing peer-to-peer fundraising campaigns is a plus
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and efficient in managing multiple tasks
  • Proficency with Microsoft Office required, experience using peer-to-peer fundraising software preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a remote setting
  • Passion for adaptive sports, inclusion, and Dare2tri’s mission

Position details

  • Part-time: 15-20 hours per week on average
  • Hourly wage: $24-26/hour
  • Opportunity to participate in a simple IRA retirement plan
  • Remote-friendly (Chicago area preferred, but not required)
  • Opportunities for additional hours through other Dare2tri programs and events
