Staying Connected in the Time of COVID-19

Three swimmers.

Although we’re in a period of physical distancing, there has never been a more important time for community than right now. After all, bringing people together through community and connection is at the core of Dare2tri’s mission.

The ongoing changes and challenges of COVID-19 have been difficult, but we are finding strength and comfort from within the Dare2tri community. While we can’t be together on the race course, or in the pool or weight room, we are embracing alternative ways to stay connected.

Together, we are adapting.

Later this evening, we are launching a virtual strength training series via Zoom. All across the country, our athletes, coaches, volunteers, and supporters will come together for 30 minutes of exercise. In these trying times, there’s no better way to reunite with longtime members of our Dare2tri family, and establish connections with new community members who are joining us for the first time.

On Wednesday, we’ll be checking in with our Elite Team athletes through a group video chat. Our intention is to bring the group together, to share tips on staying active and motivated and to answer questions. Above all, our goal is to show our unwavering support.

As you have likely heard, the Tokyo Olympics & Paralympics were postponed until 2021. It’s a bump in the road for our Elite athletes, but they are embracing the circumstances and looking forward to the journey ahead. We are too.

At the 2021 Tokyo games, the power of sport will bring us back together stronger than ever before.

The impact of COVID-19 is ever-changing. We are closely monitoring the situation day by day while remaining hopeful for an outstanding 10th season alongside our community — a community unlike any other.

Please take care of yourself, your families, and your friends.
