Paratriathletes will learn critical racing skills and strategy in preparation for the Pleasant Prairie Triathlon
CHICAGO, IL — Dare2tri announces the return of its Train2Race Camp, providing seasoned paratriathletes with advanced instruction in swimming, cycling, running/wheelchair pushing, and triathlon transition. Located in Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin, athletes will sharpen their athletic prowess at the RecPlex recreational facility from June 25 to June 27. Participants will conclude the Dare2tri hosted training camp by competing in the Pleasant Prairie Triathlon on the final day.
Hosted by Race Day Events, this year’s highly anticipated Pleasant Prairie Triathlon is now the designated race for the PATCO Americas Triathlon Para Championships (Pan-American Triathlon Confederation). The race will provide international elite athletes with the opportunity to qualify their country for the 2021 Paralympic Games in Tokyo. For U.S. based athletes, the race will serve as Selection Event #2 for the chance to “punch their ticket” to join the U.S. Paralympic Team roster.
Continuing a decade-long relationship with Pleasant Prairie Triathlon, Dare2tri is the designated charity for the event. All registrants of the race have the option to include a donation towards Dare2tri’s mission of empowering individuals with physical disabilities and visual impairments through adaptive sports.
“Dare2tri is grateful to Race Day Events for being recognized as the official charity for the Pleasant Prairie Triathlon,” said Keri Serota, co-founder & executive director at Dare2tri. “Race Director Ryan Griessmeyer and his crew have done an incredible job in supporting and accommodating the para community. We couldn’t be more excited to return to Pleasant Prairie with our second Train2Race Camp to enhance the skills of intermediate and elite paratriathletes.”
The Train2Race Camp will include intermediate-level triathletes and Dare2tri’s Elite team consisting of Melissa Stockwell, Howie Sanborn, Zach Young, Mary Kate Callahan, Adam Popp, Uriah Steffen, Owen Cravens, and Kelly Worrell. During the race on Sunday, June 27th, Dare2tri will be hosting a VIP tent to watch the race and meet the Elite team.
