All proceeds of the Tokyo Games homecoming event will support athletes with disabilities
CHICAGO, IL — Dare2tri announces Victory Lap, a homecoming party celebrating the achievements of Team USA and the incredible paralympians of the Dare2tri paratriathlon club. Featuring Tokyo Paralympians, inspirational speakers, live music, games, food and much more, the family-friendly event will take place on October 3rd at On Tour Brewing Company located in Chicago from 3:00pm – 7:00pm CST.
With growing media interest in the para-athletic community, the Victory Lap celebration will also increase awareness of Paralympic champions’ recent milestones, including equal pay for medalists and a rising number of endorsements.
Being a well-known hub for athletic talent and high-level paratriathlon training, Dare2tri will honor four of its past and present Elite team members, including the following:
- Melissa Stockwell – 2020 U.S. Paralympian (triathlon), Dare2tri Co-Founder
- Hailey Danz – 2020 U.S. Paralympic silver medalist (triathlon)
- Grace Norman – 2020 U.S. Paralympic silver medalist (triathlon)
- Ahalya Lettenberger – 2020 U.S. Paralympic silver medalist (swimming)
Victory Lap will also honor Kevin McDowell, the 2020 U.S. Olympic Silver medalist for triathlon mixed relay.
“The success of the Paralympic Games and celebrating our Paralympians is a major catalyst for change in the disability community,” said Keri Serota, co-founder & executive director at Dare2tri. “Events like Victory Lap create the awareness needed to elevate para-athletes with increased support while inspiring the next generation Paralympic hopefuls.”
The Tokyo Games homecoming party has gained sponsorship support from notable brands, including sustainable footwear and apparel brand AllBirds.
All proceeds for Victory Lap will provide programs, resources, equipment, and funding for athletes with disabilities at every level from recreational to elite. Tickets are priced at $100 for adults and $35 for children. Additional sponsorship packages are currently available at the Photo Booth ($10,000), Gold ($5,000), Silver ($2,500), and Bronze ($1,000) levels.
Dare2tri is a non-profit organization dedicated to enhancing the lives of individuals with physical disabilities and visual impairments by building confidence, community, health and wellness through swimming, biking and running. A leader in the paratriathlon community, Dare2tri provides adaptive training for youth, adults, and injured service members, from the novice to elite level. Since 2011, Dare2tri has helped thousands cross the finish line by eliminating barriers to high-priced equipment, transportation, and coaching. The organization is based in Chicago, Ill., but its community of athletes spans nationwide.
