U.S. Army Veteran, Paralympic triathlete and Dare2tri Co-Founder Melissa Stockwell has published her memoir The Power of Choice: My Journey from Wounded Warrior to World Champion. In her debut as an author, Stockwell takes readers on a captivating journey of perseverance and triumph.
In 2004, Stockwell lost her leg to an IED during a routine patrol in Iraq, making her the first female soldier to lose a limb in the Iraq War. After a long and challenging recovery, she adapted into a life of sports. Stockwell has since become a three-time Paratriathlon World Champion and a bronze medalist from the 2016 Rio Paralympics.
