Train2Race Long Beach

A training camp geared towards experienced paratriathletes.

About this program

Train2Race Camp is designed for experienced paratriathletes looking to elevate their racing performance. With expert coaching, hands-on instruction, and race-day strategy sessions, athletes will refine their skills in a high-performance training environment. Camp culminates in the Long Beach Legacy Triathlon, part of the 2026 Paratriathlon Nationals Qualifier Series.

In addition to our Long Beach camp, we also host Train2Race Camp in Pleasant Prairie, WI, just one hour north of Chicago.

Eligibility

Train2Race Camp is open to paratriathletes who have completed a Sprint-distance triathlon in under two hours within the last two years, without an on-course guide (except for visually impaired athletes who use sighted guides). Exceptions may be made for athletes with comparable experience and capability.

Equipment expectations

As Train2Race is an intermediate-level camp culminating in a formal triathlon, athletes are expected to bring the equipment they regularly train and race with. While we understand that traveling with personal equipment can be challenging, using your own gear helps ensure the safest and most effective experience throughout camp sessions and on race day. If you have any questions or need guidance regarding equipment, please contact Dare2tri program staff in advance of the camp.

Ground transportation

Ground transportation between Long Beach Airport (LGB) and the camp hotel is available upon request. To be eligible, participants must arrive at LGB by 4:00 p.m. on Thursday (the day before camp begins) and depart no earlier than 3 p.m. on Sunday, the final day of camp. Participants arriving after 4:00 p.m. on Thursday are responsible for arranging their own transportation to the hotel.
