With in-person programming on hold, Dare2tri has shifted gears to virtual programming. What better way to bring the Dare2tri community together? Even in these times of separation, our athletes are staying connected, motivated and engaged.
After our first virtual training session, an athlete named Holly wrote us an email. Holly is a veteran with a spinal cord injury who has attended Injured Military Camp. Her message left us all smiling.
“I feel like this was the best all-around workout I’ve had in a long time”, she wrote. “Thanks for showing me how to modify the exercises in a chair. I was able to get my able-bodied roommate to work out with me as well.”
That’s the beauty of virtual programming. Adaptive and able-bodied athletes can share a great workout together, no matter where they are. That’s why we’re offering virtual training several days a week, and don’t plan on stopping any time soon. Across the nation, people of all ability levels are banding together — and they are moving.
Making Connections Countrywide
Participants are training with us virtually from coast to coast. So far, we’ve reached fitness-seekers in 31 different states. Can we reach all 50?
Growing Stronger Together
Since March 31, we’ve had the pleasure to sweat it out alongside 149 athletes and volunteers. Of that group, 36 people (24%) are completely new to Dare2tri. Our family is growing.
We live in rural North Dakota so these training sessions have been amazing for my son, Sam . Prior to the times, he was training at the local YMCA between five and six days a week. We are so grateful he can continue being active.

A Watch Party to Remember
In between workout days, we hosted a virtual screening of “Adaptive” — a short documentary about Dee Palagi, a Dare2tri athlete who is an amputee. Nearly 100 viewers came together and tuned in all at once!
After the film, the watch party continued with a live Q&A featuring Dee and her Dare2tri teammate Mary Kate Callahan. If you missed it, you can stream “Adaptive” on Facebook.
