This is a hands-on role at the center of our fundraising operations. You’ll keep our donor relationships strong, our data clean, our events running smoothly, and our major donor pipeline moving forward. You’ll work closely with the Executive Director on donor cultivation and stewardship, and collaborate regularly with the Director of Communications and Director of Finance to keep development efforts connected across the organization.

Salary Range: $50,000–$60,000, based on experience

Responsibilities
Fundraising & Donor Operations
- Enter and manage all gifts, pledges, and payments in our donor database; send timely acknowledgment letters and tax receipts to donors.
- Keep donor and prospect records current (contact info, giving history, communication preferences, and relationship notes) and do regular cleanup to keep the data reliable.
- Build lists and pull segments for appeals, email campaigns, event invitations, and other outreach.
- Run reports on fundraising progress, campaign performance, donor retention, and pipeline activity to keep the team informed and on track.
- Support annual giving activities including donor appeals, stewardship touchpoints, and follow-up communications.
- Track pledge schedules and coordinate reminders; work with the Director of Finance on gift reconciliation.
- Partner with the Executive Director on major donor work, including researching prospects, preparing briefing materials, supporting meetings, and following up on next steps.
- Put together donor summaries and giving histories to support funder meetings and solicitations.
- Provide excellent customer service to donors and prospects by handling inquiries and representing Dare2tri at events.
- Maintain database documentation and provide training and guidance to staff as needed to ensure consistent and accurate data practices across the organization.
Events & Peer-to-Peer Fundraising
- Help plan and execute Dare2tri’s signature fundraising events, including Start the Season and Victory Lap, managing logistics, attendee lists, materials, and on-site needs.
- Support Race2Raise and other peer-to-peer campaigns by helping participants, tracking activity, and following up with donors.
- Handle post-event data entry, donor acknowledgments, and follow-up communications.
Stewardship, Grants & Administrative Support
- Coordinate scheduling and logistics for donor, sponsor, and partner meetings; take notes and track follow-up.
- Support sponsor stewardship by tracking fulfillment commitments and keeping communications on schedule.
- Help manage grants administration by maintaining a calendar of deadlines, organizing submissions, and tracking reporting requirements.
- Provide general coordination support where development work intersects with programs, events, or communications.
Key Qualifications
- 1–3 years of experience in nonprofit development, fundraising, or a closely related administrative role.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and follow-through.
- Experience with a CRM or donor database, or a genuine eagerness to learn one quickly.
- Comfort managing multiple deadlines and priorities without losing track of the details.
- Ability to interact with the Dare2tri supporter community so they feel a deeper connection to the organization.
- A collaborative, team-oriented approach.
- A bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
Bonus points for:
- Experience with fundraising events or peer-to-peer campaigns.
- Familiarity with grants administration or sponsor stewardship.
- A background in adaptive sports, disability inclusion, or community health.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
Work Environment
Dare2tri operates within a primarily remote work model, with regular in-person team meetings. Candidates must reside in the Chicagoland area and be available for occasional evening and weekend events.
