About this program

The Chicago Triathlon is going virtual for 2020. From August 22-30, they are hosting a virtual duathlon and triathlon in place of the in-person event that traditionally brings thousands to Chicago’s lakefront to swim, bike and run.

Dare2tri, in partnership with the USA Triathlon Foundation, will be hosting a FREE #ChiTriVirtual race prep clinic for any athletes with a physical disability or visual impairment who are interested in participating.

All clinic registrants will receive a complimentary race entry ($55) and a Dare2tri T-shirt!

Strategizing for a virtual race is a little different than a traditional in-person race. We’ve got tips and tricks for you.

In order to participate, athletes must have a computer or smartphone with internet access for Zoom video conferencing. All programming will be conducted on a private and secure Zoom chat. Each session will last approximately 40 minutes.

Please note: When you register for this virtual clinic, you are committing to attending all three sessions.

The #ChiTriVirtual race includes six distances to choose from. Participating athletes can complete and submit their results from August 22 to August 30. You can finish all three legs at one time, or break them up individually throughout the week.

International Duathlon: .93 mile run + 24.8 mile bike + 6.2 mile run
International Triathlon:
 .93 mile swim + 24.8 mile bike + 6.2 mile run

Sprint Duathlon: .47 mile run + 15 mile bike + 3.1 mile run
Sprint Triathlon: 
.47 mile swim + 15 mile bike + 3.1 mile run

SuperSprint Duathlon: .23 mile run + 6.2 mile bike + 1.5 mile run
SuperSprint Triathlon: .23 mile swim + 6.2 mile bike + 1.5 mile run

Perks for the race includes a downloadable race bib, finisher medal, gaiter, and custom GIF stickers.
