Logistics & Program Intern

Dare2tri is seeking a Logistics & Program Intern to join its Chicago-based team during Summer 2023. As an intern, this individual will assist Dare2tri in ensuring all logistics for camps, clinics and practices are well organized and executed. This will include coordination of equipment, signage, trailers, tents, facilities, and more. The Logistics & Program Intern will be part of all Dare2tri major events and will be included in the planning and implementing of the logistics of the event.

This position will report to Dare2tri’s Logistics & Program Manager. This is a part time seasonal, un-paid position with a maximum of 20 hours per week. The position will start mid-May and finish at the end of August (can be flexible on start/end). The position will include a variety of day, evening and weekend hours.

Responsibilities

  • Attending weekly practices and camps including weekend events
  • Loading and unloading trailers of adaptive equipment in a safe and organized manner
  • Able to perform (or willingness to learn) general bike maintenance and adjustments. This will include adaptive equipment such as handcycles, tandem bikes, racing wheelchairs, etc.
  • Ability to hook up and unhook trailers

Qualifications

  • Capable of lifting and moving equipment (up to 50 pounds) including but not limited to bikes, hand cycles, racing chairs, tandem bikes, tents, tables, chairs, tools, etc.
  • Knowledgeable and comfortable using general tools
  • Understand the general components of bicycles
  • Can work independently under supervision of Dare2tri Program Director and staff
