Development Coordinator

Dare2tri is now hiring a full-time Development Coordinator.

The Development Coordinator plays a key role in supporting Dare2tri’s fundraising operations, with a focus on annual giving, donor stewardship, events, and development systems. This role works closely with the Executive Director to support major donor cultivation and acquisition through prospect research, briefing materials, meeting preparation, and follow-up. The Development Coordinator also collaborates with the Director of Communications and Director of Finance to ensure timely donor communications and strong administrative processes.

Location: Full-time, based in the Chicagoland area
Salary Range: $50,000–$60,000, based on experience

Responsibilities

Fundraising & Donor Operations

  • Support annual fundraising activities, including donor communications, appeals, and stewardship touchpoints.
  • Maintain accurate donor records, gift processing, acknowledgments, and reporting.
  • Support major donor efforts in partnership with the Executive Director, including prospect research, donor briefings, meeting prep, and follow-up.
  • Track fundraising progress, campaign performance, and donor pipeline activity.

Events & Peer-to-Peer Fundraising

  • Support planning and logistics for Dare2tri fundraising events, including Start the Season and Victory Lap.
  • Assist with peer-to-peer campaigns such as Race2Raise, including participant support, tracking, and donor follow-up.
  • Prepare event materials, coordinate attendee lists, and manage post-event follow-up.

Stewardship, Grants & Administrative Support

  • Support donor, sponsor, and partner meetings through scheduling, preparation, and follow-up.
  • Assist with sponsor stewardship, including fulfillment tracking and communications.
  • Support grants administration by tracking deadlines, maintaining a grants calendar, and organizing submissions.
  • Provide administrative and internal coordination support when development intersects with events or programs.

Key Qualifications

  • 1–3 years of experience in nonprofit development, fundraising, or administrative support preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organization, and follow-through.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Experience with CRM and fundraising platforms (or willingness to learn).
  • Event coordination or project management experience a plus.
  • Collaborative, adaptable, and mission-driven.

Work Environment

Dare2tri operates within a primarily remote work model, with regular in-person team meetings. Candidates must reside in the Chicagoland area and be available for occasional evening and weekend events.
